Hyundai Veloster with Gamma engine all-new 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine is Hyundai’s smallest to the Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). GDI technology helps provide estimated highway fuel economy to 40 mpg, lower emissions and higher reliability. Machines at Hyundai Veloster, 1.6 liter Gamma provide peak output 138 hp at 6300 rpm and maximum torque of 123 lb.-ft. at 4850 rpm. But GDI only part of the story as new Gamma also features Dual Variable Valve Timing continuous, electronic throttle control, roller timing chain, variable induction and innovative anti-friction coatings such as Physical Vapor Deposition CRN (PVD) coating and Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) layer.
Hyundai Veloster with the standard six-speed manual transmission or, new transmission six-speed dual-clutch (DCT) developed by Hyundai. Hyundai Veloster DCT can be regarded as two traditional manual transmission, each with its own clutch operation in parallel and alternate shifts. Hyundai Veloster is a six-speed with a clutch that works on gears one, three and five and the other is used for two, four, six and vice versa. This led to the rapid shift in the seamless transition with no loss of efficiency normally associated with torque converter. Clutch actuator assembly for electric motor-driven features, and external dampers enhance NVH.
